- The only problem with that solution is that the community work also comes with an associated fine/fee. So you get X number of days of community service (which by the way is technically still "incarceration") AND you have to pay some predetermined fee per day you serve.

- In CA men can take a paid leave (albiet less pay) to spend time with the baby. I've done it for my last 2 and it's a great option.
- 2 edged sword. Employee takes job, goes on leave for full bene's/time w/ no intention of returning when time is up. Employer holding bag.
